LITA POWELL, R.I.B.C., Real Estate Agent Nominee, Property Manager

Lita is one of the owners of Li-Car Management Group and has been involved in property management since 1983. She started in maintenance and has worked her way up through every level of the industry.

Throughout the years, Lita has constantly upgraded her formal and professional training by participating in courses offered by the Real Estate Institute, the Real Estate Foundation, and various construction and maintenance courses. She obtained her Real Estate Agent’s license in 1990 and is the acting Agent-Nominee for the office. She graduated in 1991 from the Urban Land and Economics Diploma Program, Management Option, offered by the University of British Columbia.

Lita remains active in the Real Estate Institute, currently sitting as a Chapter Director for the Cariboo Chapter. She is past editor for the Input magazine, Management division, and has sat on the Public Relations and Government liaison committees. She also is an associate member of CHOA and the Strata Property Agents of B.C.

HELEN DeGroot, Strata Manager

Wanda SmookHelen De Groot is one of our newest staff Members. She is our Prince George Strata Manager. Helen De Groot made Prince George her home in 1989 and has a strong background in community development including the Chamber of Commerce, the Summer Games, Strong Communities in the 90's and several years in Social Services to women in crisis and individuals with mental disabilities.

Helen is a licensed Property and Strata manager with several years experience and great success in developing relationships with strata councils.

CAROL TAYLOR, Accountant

Carol TaylorCarol, a partner in Li-Car Management Group, has been involved in the accounting field for the past twenty-five years.

As a result of her extensive training and experience, Carol has developed a unique combination of commercial and custom-designed accounting programs that enable our firm to provide precise accounting in any format required by our Owners.

As Chief Financial Officer, Carol oversees all of the firm's accounting and financial planning.

MAUREEN MITCHELL, Office Manager/Owner Trust Accountant/Payroll

Maureen has been with Li-Car since 1995. She prepares the Owner statements on a monthly basis and oversees the trust accounts. She also prepares the Strata packages for the Strata Managers. As Office Manager, her responsibilities include supervision of the office staff, insuring that all directives are met.

DOROTHY STEVENSON, Accounts Receivable Manager

Dorothy administers income collections, maintaining the rent rolls and Tenant activity reports. She also handles the co-ordination of arbitration hearings and preparing the arbitration packages.

SANDRA MOORE, Accounts Payable

Sandra performs all the functions of accounts payable and payroll, ensuring that expenses are allocated to the correct properties.

RENTAL CLERKS AND RECEPTIONISTS:

Our qualified receptionists and rental clerks accept and screen applications, direct them to the appropriate project, and ensure all paperwork is properly completed.

MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT:

We are especially proud of our maintenance department, which is staffed with 6 full-time employees in the Fort St. John area, some of whom have been with the company for more than 10 years. Our maintenance personnel in the other communities where we manage properties are often the property managers as well.

Our Senior Maintenance man, Doug Wigglesworth, has worked with Lita since 1988 and transferred to Li-Car Management Group at its beginning, bringing his more than 20 years of construction experience. He holds a Fourth Class Power Engineering ticket and personally supervises all work required on our boiler systems.

The maintenance department identifies the repair and maintenance requirements for each property, which is reported to the Owners. We are then able to perform almost all non-journeyman trades functions in-house.
